Differentiate to Succeed.
The Unique Value Proposition.
Itt’s #TerminologyTuesday, where we feature a term from the world of marketing, that everyone with a small business could benefit from understanding. In the words of the very wise Seth Godin, we must “differentiate to succeed”. That’s where your unique value proposition comes in.
✔️ unique value proposition:
the core benefit or solution that your product or service offers, that differentiates you from your competition. Your unique value proposition (UVP) should clearly position your product or service as the best possible option for your potential customer. Also often referred to as a unique selling proposition (USP).
It’s important for potential customers to understand what your product or service can do for them, of course. But it’s extremely important to demonstrate what differentiates you from your competition. What do you do differently? What added value do you offer? Why would potential customers choose you over a competitor? Once you’ve recognized and understand what differentiates you from the pack, make sure your potential customers are aware by working it into your marketing messaging!
